It’s the political campaign season, and unless you live under a rock, you are well aware of the things that have been happening. Politicians are some of the greatest salesmen in the world. They are quick to tell you what you want to hear in order to win your vote. The following video is a clip from the movie The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon. Genesis 3:1 – Now the serpent was more crafty that any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You shall not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
Quite possibly the most deceptive question a person can entertain is the first question the serpent asked Eve. “Did God really say…?” has the potential to completely derail a person’s faith. For if a person can be led to question the truth of what God has said in His word, then they will be forced to ask if there is such a thing as absolute truth. When they question the reality of absolute truth, they begin the downward spiral into a world of relativity where what is true is determined by the person asking.
